My Project Overseas assignment in Nigeria was an amazing experience. It was a pleasure to work with the Nigerian teachers, who were enthusiastic workshop participants. Every morning, they arrived before the workshop started and greeted us with "You are welcome." We were welcomed by the teachers we worked with and by the students we visited in the schools.

The science teachers who attended the workshops taught huge classes, usually with one textbook and no science supplies. Despite these many challenges, they are committed to their students and optimistic about the future. Our workshops ended with a Nigerian celebration where we were presented with local gifts. The true gift, however, was the opportunity to share with fellow teachers who are a world away.
