ATA President Frank Bruseker represented Alberta’s teachers at a massive rally held October 17 in Victoria, B.C. and organized by the B.C. Federation of Labour. As many as 15,000 unionized workers gathered on the lawns of the provincial legislature in support of the province’s teachers, who were in the midst of an illegal strike. Teachers walked off the job on October 7 after the government imposed a contract on teachers.
