The Alberta Teachers’ Association

• Teacher contributions toward the pre-1992 unfunded liability—3.1 per cent of salary
in 2007—end.

• Agreement provides for salary increases of 3 per cent in teacher salaries and allowances for 2007/08.

• A payment of $1,500 will be made to teachers who are under contract April 30, 2008.

• In the remaining four years of the agreement, teachers will receive salary increases
that are equivalent to the increase in Alberta average weekly earnings.

• The premier commits to fully fund the cost of implementing the agreement. The class size reduction initiative continues for the duration of the agreement.

• The government will not remove school administrators from membership in
the Association.

• The government and the ATA commit to ongoing consultations on issues affecting public education.

• The ATA commits to implementing practice review.
