What began as a challenge to raise $10,000 toward building a Ronald McDonald House for Central Alberta grew into a whopping $23,515. Staff and students at Alix-MAC School, in Alix, undertook fundraising events, including shearing the heads of Principal Rod Phillips (left) and Assistant Principal Sean Lougheed. The K–12 school has a population of 210 students. Ronald McDonald Houses provide out-of-town families with accommodation when their child is ill or injured and confined to a hospital for an extended period of time.
