Organizations Devoted to Combating Racism

Second Languages and Intercultural Council 
Organized by the Alberta Teachers’ Association, the Intercultural and Second Languages Council strives to make Alberta teachers more aware of the issues of culture and second languages. It also acts as an advocate for advancing and promoting second languages and intercultural education.

Centre for Race and Culture 
The Centre for Race and Culture's (CRC) mission is to work toward the goals of eliminating racism, racial discrimination and racially motivated violence in northern Alberta. Through research, education, policy and program development we will promote and support individual, collective and systemic change.

John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights 
John Humphrey Centre is a non-profit human rights organization located in Edmonton, Alberta dedicated to human rights education. The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights advances a culture of peace and human rights through educational programs and activities, community collaboration and relationship building guided by the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
