Student Local Conference branding graphic on a yellow back ground with the words lead, connect and share underneath.

The 2022 Student Local Conference (SLC) is a meeting of student local executives from across the province of Alberta.

The Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) hosts student locals from across Alberta to share best practices for leading student members at post-secondary institutions. The ATA will present various speakers who will provide both functional, but also aspirational information to support student locals in the year ahead.

What can you expect? A brilliant talk on bias and discrimination in schools from Gail-Ann Wilson, Cultural Diversity Education Consultant, a discussion on organizing and managing a local by Heather Quinn, president of Edmonton Public Teachers Local 37, a presentation from Andrea Berg, executive staff officer - government, on using social media as a tool for communication, Chris Gonsalvez and Monique Gravel, executive staff officers – professional development, and more!  Some sessions will be available in French.
