Scholarships created

May 30, 2017
Assistant executive secretary Sharon Vogrinetz unwraps a scholarship certificate created in her name by Elk Island Local No. 28. Presenting the award is Vogrinetz’s daughter Jennifer Fredeen, who is an Elk Island teacher.

Two locals announced that they were establishing scholarships in the name of soon-to-be-retired executive staff officers.

Elk Island Local No. 28 is creating a scholarship in honour of Assistant Executive Secretary Sharon Vogrinetz, who began her teaching career in the local. Vogrinetz is retiring from the Association this summer.

Sturgeon Local No. 27 is creating a scholarship to honour Executive Secretary Gordon Thomas, who started his career in Sturgeon and is set to retire next year. Both scholarships will enable a local member to attend Summer Conference each year.
