May 30, 2017 ATA News Staff

Provincial Executive Council has named Robert Mazzotta as the new co-ordinator of Member Services.

Fluently bilingual in French and English, Mazzotta has been an executive staff officer with Member Services for the past 10 years. He came to the Alberta Teachers’ Association in 2007 from Edmonton Public Schools, where he was a teacher and school administrator for 13 years before joining the human resources department of the district’s central office.

During his time at the ATA, Mazzotta has developed a reputation as a polished presenter who is highly knowledgeable of Association policy and practices. In addition to his responsibilities as a duty officer, Mazzotta has had extensive assignments in diversity, equity and human rights and, more recently, responsibility as the Association’s international officer.

He says he’s ready for the challenge presented by his appointment to co-ordinator.

“I look forward to continuing the good work that Member Services provides to the members and to working with our dedicated team of professionals in Edmonton and Calgary,” Mazzotta said.

“I am excited to build on the strengths of our program area and to learn how we can better meet the needs of members. I am also looking forward to working with local officials and district personnel across the province.”

Mazzotta assumes his new duties August 1. ❚
