Students from Spruce Grove Composite High School try on kimonos during an event called Explore Japan on Nov. 4 at Edmonton Public Schools’ Institute for Innovation in Second Language Education. More than 200 Grade 10 students from Red Deer and the capital region took in the two-day event, which included workshops on tea ceremony, calligraphy, kimonos, manga, drumming, karate and dance. All the students are currently studying Japanese.
