New resource helps with high school transition

A new online resource is available to help students navigate their online interactions and activities as they transition to high school.

Your Connected Life: A Teen’s Guide to Life Online offers tips and solutions for issues like balancing screen time with school work, managing one’s relationships and reputation online and using the Internet to find the best information on health, hobbies and homework.

Provided by MediaSmarts, a Canadian not-for-profit centre for digital and media literacy, the guide is available in English and French at mediasmarts.ca.

Videos should be no more than two minutes long, and can be created individually or in a team. Videos can include live action, animation, claymation, rap, stop motion, poetry, black and white film, or any other style.

The submission deadline is March 11, 2016. More information and an application form are available on the provincial government’s website at http://work.alberta.ca/occupational-health-safety/3608.html.
