Alberta Teachers’ Association president Mark Ramsankar takes a break for a photo during the International Summit on the Teaching Profession in Berlin, Germany, on March 3. Sponsored by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Education International, the annual summit brings together education voices of governments and teacher organizations from around the world. Issues discussed included teacher attraction and retention, professional development, technology, aboriginal students and the influx of refugees. Ramsankar attended in his role as vice-president of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation.
