Crestwood School supply drive

February 24, 2015

Rayne Loeffler, a Grade 7 student at Edmonton’s Crestwood School, collected more than 1,500 coloured pencils and other school supplies, which she recently delivered in person to three different schools in the Dominican Republic.

When her family started planning a trip to the Dominican, Rayne and her brother Xander started doing research about the country and discovered that school children there often had to share or go without their own school supplies. Rayne spearheaded a schoolwide collection drive that culminated in her travelling to the Dominican with a 26-pound suitcase full of supplies.
