Alberta Teachers’ Association president Jason Schilling has issued the following statement regarding the issuance of the mediator’s recommendation for settlement:

“We have received the mediator’s recommended terms of settlement for central table bargaining and we will be working in the weeks ahead to inform our members about the contents of the recommendation.

“Teachers have the final say on whether to accept the terms of settlement, and we will now be taking the time to speak to and hear from our members.

“We will not be discussing anything else publicly until after teachers have had a chance to vote on the recommendation.”
