Metro Continuing Education hosted an International Chefs Day event on Oct. 21. Under the theme of "Art on a Plate," children who attended learned about healthy eating by being creative with food. Volunteer chefs from the Edmonton Chefs Association also prepared a free gourmet vegetarian and halal supper for more than 600 guests. Among the volunteers were Pierre Plamondon, the food services and facilities manager at Barnett House, and Tony Abinader, a cook at the Barnett House cafeteria.
