The Alberta Teachers’ Association

Teachers at Eagle Butte High School in Dunmore (near Medicine Hat) created a back-to-school video featuring lip synch performances of three songs: Tubthumping by Chumbawumba, Wannabe by the Spice Girls and Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind.

These songs were all number one hits in 1998, the birth year of most of the students who will graduate at the end of this year.

The teachers’ outfits were inspired by the fact that, due to its location, the school is home to three distinct types of student: those from the nearby military base, those from area farms, and urban dwellers from Medicine Hat and Redcliff. The video symbolizes these groups coming together.
