Edmonton’s Telus World of Science gives teachers free entry to the Science Behind Pixar Exhibition

Your ATA membership card will give you free access during July and August to the Telus World of Science blockbuster exhibition about the science, mathematics and art that create the magic behind animated hits including Toy Story, Cars, Finding Nemo, WALL-E, Up and Monsters, Inc. Pixar Animation Studios has revolutionized the creation of animated films, using cutting edge technology to bring memorable characters and stories to life. Visit your favorite Pixar characters at The Science Behind Pixar Exhibition and discover how Pixar artists and computer scientists combine art and technology to create the award-winning films you have grown to love.

This summer the Telus World of Science has brought to Edmonton an exhibition developed by the Boston Museum of Science in Collaboration with Pixar and is inviting teachers to take a free look (a value of $27.95).

Enjoy a unique look into the Pixar process, and explore the science and technology behind some of the most beloved animated films and their characters with The Science Behind Pixar Exhibition. This interactive exhibition showcases the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts used by the artists and computer scientists who help bring Pixar’s award-winning films to the big screen.

With more than 40 interactive elements, the exhibition’s eight sections each focus on a step in the filmmaking process to give you an unparalleled view of the production pipeline and concepts used at Pixar every day.

Participate in fun, engaging hands-on activities, listen to firsthand accounts from members of the studios’ production teams, and even come face-to-face with re-creations of your favorite Pixar film characters, including Buzz Lightyear, Dory, Mike and Sulley, Edna Mode, and WALL•E!

Telus World of Science is located kitty corner to the Alberta Teachers’ Association Barnett House in Edmonton. Access is off 142 street on the corner of 111 avenue.
