ATA President Welcomes New Minister

Release Date 2019 04 30

Alberta Teachers’ Association president Greg Jeffery is offering congratulations to Red Deer North MLA Adriana LaGrange on her appointment as education minister:

“I look forward to working with Adriana in her new role as education minister with the UCP government. The Association and I have had a chance to work with her in her experience as a former school board trustee for the Red Deer Catholic School Division and as president of the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association. Our existing relationship provides a solid platform to continue to work together in her new role. She has a good awareness of the many challenges that public education faces in trying to meet the needs of all students.

The Kenney government has promised to maintain or increase education funding, build new schools, prioritize public infrastructure funds and begin an immediate audit of class sizes. We look forward to working with Minister LaGrange on these priorities.”
