What We Do
The Association’s annual report is filed annually with Alberta’s legislative assembly. It outlines the highlights of Association programs and services from the previous year.
The Association is governed by an annual meeting known as the Annual Representative Assembly, which is composed of delegates representing the Association's 54 locals. Between annual meetings, business is transacted by an executive committee known as Provincial Executive Council.

To adapt to changes, the Association engages in strategic planning and actively
encourages all of its subgroups to do the same.
The Association oversees both the professional conduct and the competence of teachers employed by school boards in Alberta. Anyone concerned about a teacher’s conduct or competence can initiate a complaint. The Association investigates each such complaint.
