ATA Locals
For administrative purposes, the Association is divided into 55 subsystems known as locals. Each local includes teachers employed by one or more school boards.

The Association's headquarters at Barnett House in Edmonton contains a Conference and Audiovisual Centre, which can accommodate groups of up to 400 people

The Association works closely with its&nbsp;educational&nbsp;partners in Alberta&nbsp;as well as with teachers' organizations in other provinces.

Membership
All teachers employed by a school board in Alberta are required&nbsp;to become active members of the&nbsp;Association. Other teachers may join as associate members. Education students may join as student members.
