School Council Resource Manual
In 1994, the Government of Alberta amended the School Act to require all schools in the province to establish school councils. To help schools get started on this venture, the various education partners put together the Alberta School Council Resource Manual (revised 2007)
. The manual explains what school councils are, describes the various decision-making models available to them, sets out the roles and responsibilities of the various participants, and provides useful information on such topics as developing bylaws, conducting meetings and handling resources.
