Sturgeon Composite High School won bronze medal

Teachers’ Relay—Edmonton Journal Games 2009

Sturgeon local’s track team, made up of teachers from Sturgeon Composite High School, in Namao, picked up bronze at the Edmonton Journal Games, March 14. "We were in tough during the finals, as one team had a retired Olympian running," commented Thomas Holmes, team member and vice-president of Sturgeon Local No. 27. "It was an exciting event and something we hope more teachers in our area will consider participating in next year. It sets an excellent example for the students … that it is important to stay active at all ages."
