Stay in school, live longer
"Experts disagree on exactly why it is that well-educated people live longer lives, but the most obvious explanation is that they make smarter, more well-considered life choices. The better educated you are, the data show, the more likely you are to get tested for HIV, give up smoking, stay in shape, get a mammogram and pursue other healthy life options. Some of the effect seems to be merely correlative with income and other causative factors: Well-educated people, for instance, tend to have good jobs that permit them to regulate their stress levels and avoid exposure to environmental and workplace hazards.
