Thanks to generous donations from ATA locals, the Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association, the Monod Fund, numerous organizations, private individuals and a government grant, the Board of Trustees of the ATA Educational Trust approved an increase in the number of bursaries and project grants to be awarded in the 2010/2011 school year. Grants support teacher continuing education, professional development and research projects.
The trustees were particularly grateful for donations made by ATA locals at the Annual Representative Assembly, in May. Teachers are encouraged to donate to the Educational Trust in memoriam or to honour retiring colleagues.
