A win for Manitoba teachers

The Manitoba government announced March 22 a plan to invest $1.5 billion in 2007/08 to fund 75 per cent of that province’s unfunded liability of the Teachers’ Retirement Allowances Fund (TRAF). Manitoba’s Education, Citizenship and Youth Minister Peter Bjornson called the investment "strategic" and said that it is designed to "help ensure the health of the plan now and in the future. It is a win for teachers, retired teachers and all Manitobans."
