A Guide to Comprehensive Professional Development Planning

This 12-page guide is intended to help school jurisdictions and schools to develop comprehensive professional development plans. The planning process outlined in the guide is based on the belief that collaboration among education partners is essential to the delivery of effective professional development at the school and system levels.

The guide was developed by a committee consisting of representatives from the following groups:

• Alberta Education
• Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortia
• Alberta School Boards Association
• Alberta Teachers’ Association
• College of Alberta School Superintendents
• Faculties of Education at Alberta Universities
