The Association’s budget for regular international assistance and development is established annually and is based on 1 percent of the previous year’s operating budget. In addition, the Association can draw upon an additional $3,500 a year to help teachers in developing countries who require immediate assistance as a result of some natural or man-made disaster. The majority of the Association’s contributions to international assistance are channeled through the Canadian Teachers’ Federation
